1988 Oceania 35 Sundeck Trawler in Gore Bay, Ontario

In the hands of her current owners for 24 years, this freshwater only boat has cruised Lake Ontario, Lake Champlain, Georgian Bay, the Ottawa, St Lawrence (as far downriver as Sorel) and Rideau rivers, the historic Rideau, Chambly and Trent-Severn canal systems and for the last 20 years the North Channel of Lake Huron and adjacent waters from Port Severn to Sault Ste. Marie.
With a lovely all-teak interior, she is a comfortable and economical (1.5 gallons per hour at 7 knots) long-range cruiser, ideal for two couples or a family. She can sleep six with a centreline queen bed in the master stateroom aft, a double berth forward, and a convertible double settee in the salon. The aft head includes a walk-in shower, while the forward head space is also a shower stall. Both cabins have large hanging lockers and plenty of other storage space. The flybridge seats six comfortably, and the large covered deck aft is a perfect setting for dining or entertaining.
Panacea has been very well maintained and has had significant upgrades over the years. Her effective cruising range has been extended by doubling her holding tank capacity (2011), with a separate tank for each head. A high-capacity Balmar alternator (2016) brings her large house batteries (2x4D) and isolated starter battery back to full capacity quickly, and a 45-amp smart charger (2018) does the same when alongside on shore power. LED lights have been fitted all round. All her decks - flybridge, sundeck, and main deck - were removed and recored in 2004-05, and are completely sound.
